I need to use my P800 as an alarm clock when travelling, but seem unable to
get it to work as well (for this function!) as my previous Nokias.

When I set an alarm time, I need to leave the phone on for the alarm to
work. This then means that any other reminders etc that occur before the set
alarm time go off and wake me up at some ungodly hour! It also means that
the battery life is even shorter or I have to plug it into a power outlet
which is not always beside the bed.

Does anyone know of some way to easily silence all sounds other than the
alarm, or preferably let me turn the phone off so it wakes up and sounds the
    alarm at the set time?

    TIA

    Hugh

Huh? Why? Do you sleep while you are supposed to be somewhere else? I
use my P800 as an alarmclock all the time (flightmode saves battery),
and it never ever had any alarm going off during my sleep. That is
because I tend not to have anything else to do while sleeping

Thanks for the ideas. Flight mode does not stop reminders in the calender
going off, it only stops incoming calls. As my P800 calender is synched with
my PC, it contains many and varied reminders for birthdays, flights next day
etc that seem to want to go off at 4am in the particulat time zone you are
    in!

I guess I might just have to buy a seperate alarm clock!
