On the "My T-Mobile" site I listed phone numbers to be stored, clicked to
send to phone, and got confirmation that they went. The phone rang, received
three (!?) messages confirming OTA received. I deleted them one by one.
    PITA.

That list of phone numbers went to the SIM! I had to go to Edit SIM and
laboriously move each of them into the phone book. There must be a better
    way. What did I miss?

    While I'm at it...
I want to enter multiple numbers for many of the names, with voice tags for
each, but don't see an obvious (i.e. what I'm accustomed to) way.

First, goto; Menu-Settings-Voice control-Voice dialling & set it to On. At
this point you will be promted to record voice tags for "Home", "Work",
    "Mobile" & "Other".

Then goto Menu-Phonebook-Voice commands-New voice. At this point the phone
will offer you the "find" requester, so use it to find the contact you want
to voice dial & add a voice tag to the contact. E.G. to add a voice tag for
John Smith, say "John Smith" when promted.

Now to use voice dialling to call John Smith's mobile phone; At the standby
screen, press and hold either of the "+" or "-" buttons on the side of the
phone. When the screen shows "After the tone, say a name or voice command"
hold the phone to your ear and when you hear the tone, say "John Smith". The
phone will repeat the name back to you and you will then hear a second tone
(if you look at the screen at this point, it shows "Say where to call").
When you hear the second tone say "Mobile" and the phone will dial the
number stored in the "Mobile" field of the contact "John Smith". Similarly,
had you wished to call John Smith's home number, you would of said "Home"
after the second tone instead of "Mobile".

If the contact you wish to voice dial is not already in your phone book,
then once you have switched on voice dialling in step one, the phone will
ask if you wish to add a voice tag when you enter the contact into the
    phone.
