I got a motorola v300 after christmas and I've been having problems
hearing people speak. The mic always works but the majority of the time
I have to turn on speakerphone before I can hear anyone talk (this is
both dialing and receiving).
Most of the time when I'm dialing I can't hear the if other phone is
ringing but then sometimes it works fine.
Seems to be some kind of software problem. ANyone else getting the
same?

Re: v300 only works with speakerphone
I know this may seem obvious but try holding the phone down a little
lower on the ear. The "sweet spot" for the speaker is very small and I
find that a lot of times I experience the same thing until I remember to
move it down a bit. I've experienced this with the v300, v600 and now
the v3.

Re: v300 only works with speakerphone
When it does work normally (maybe 1/4 the time), i can hear it no
problem at all. I have yet to see any pattern as to when it does work
and when it doesn't. (2 of the last 3 call I made worked fine, the 4
previous didn't work)
I was kinda hoping this would be a common problem. I've got the cable
at home and I've seen some threads on howardforums about a speaker
volume hack so I'll give that a go as s oon as i have time.
