I routinely send text messages back and forth between Nextel to T-Mobile.
This works great. However, starting yesterday, some of the messages
originated on the T-Mobile phone and coming into the Nextel phone as SMS.
This has never occurred until yesterday and seems to be intermittent. The
T-mobile users is not doing anything different. Both phones are signed up
for text messaging.
Any thoughts?

nextel phone do in fact have sms capabilities! altho they are not enabled. perhaps in your area they are testing the sms as it was supposed to be released with the i730...mmdstech would probably know more about when it's supposed to launch!
nextel even has prebuilt instant replies for sms on your phone!

Re: Text Msg
i get those trivia question messages from nextel. the past two weeks they
came as regular net mail but yesterday they were coming as both net mail and
message mail. i think there was just something screwy with the text system.
itll probly get resolved. but dont worry, its not just you.

Not entirely sure what you are asking... However text messaging is SMS
and if you have the unlimited messaging you are covered. If it comes in
as MMS then that is seperate in most cases. If you go thru T-Zones and
compose an e-mail that I beleieve goes under the MMS bucket. Just
sending hey or some scuh from you to Nextek (or whomever/wherever even
under 500 gateway is SMS) Hope that helps...

Re: Text Msg
To answer your question, Nextel was having network problems yesterday
through out the nation so the Text Messages came as either Text msgs or
Net alerts or even both to some users.
If you have the 7.50 unlimited text you are "supposed to" ALSO get the
unlimited SMS (Text and numeric messaging feature - one way msg's) but
call CS to make sure they have it set that way...because they had it set
wrong in my account
