Can I transfer my present SIM card from my i90c to a i730 off of Ebay? Any
    problems? Xtra costs?

    Anyone done it?

Yes, but there is a catch.

Ironically, Nextel will tell you that they do not recommend it. The reason
is that they don't recommend using a 2-digit series SIM on a 3-digit series.

I just moved from an i58sr to an i730. This is what you want to do.
Assuming the i730 has a SIM, call Nextel and activate that phone. They will
need the phone s/n and the SIM serial number. Then, bring the old SIM and
the new phone to a Nextel phone and they have a device that will transfer
your address book from one SIM to the other.

If the new phone doesn't have a SIM, the older one will work, but the newer
SIM will allow you to take advantage of the new feature set.

Call Nextel. They have a new, stand-alone SIM cloner, for end users! It's
only $14.95, and it allows you to copy a 2-digit model SIM, to a 3-digit
model SIM. You simply plug the SIM modules into it, and transfer the data
    from one, to the other!

A Nextel agent will charge you much more for this service.

A Nextel agent will charge you? Really?

I called my local Nextel store and he gladly cloned my address book over to
the new SIM at no charge whatsoever!

He even informed me that Nextel provided them the unit to do this so that
they could 'help' their customers move forward with their technology. It
also allows them to clone other vendors SIM cards where appropriate.

Some dealers will charge you for everything they can, but many are
decent guys and know that providing good customer service is worth the
    hassle.

    Re: Xferring SIM cards

If I call nextel and activate the phone then they will charge me
a transfer fee. By just switching the sim cards I am trying to
avoid the xfer fee. I don't want to upgrade my service, I don't
want to sign another 2 years to my contract, I don't want a 40
some odd dollar "upgrade" fee......I just need a new phone.

What I am trying to do here is save the $40 xfer fee.

I guess if I can't use the new features with the old sim card, I am
just gonna have to eat the cost ehh. Any ideas?
