It just occured to me that there is a bit of overlap in the addon
plans offered by Nextel. I haven't tried calling sales to negotiate
this but it seems like it might be worthwhile for those of us that
have large fleets, or are long time customers with high monthly bills.

According to the latest issue of Direct Connection the following plans
    are available:

    Nationwide DC for $10/mo
    or
Nationwide DC + Unlimited Two-Way text messaging for $15/mo

Unlimited two-way text messaging by itself is $7.50/mo, so by ordering
both of them together you save $2.50.

I'm thinking that if you have the Full Service Package it might be
possible to talk them down to $7.50 or $5.00 to combine the FSP with
Nationwide DC. Granted, that doesn't help people that just have the
base service, but if you've added ala carte options like Unlimited
Incoming Phone, Unlimited Nights and Weekends, and the Full Service
Package or all 3 together it seems like they might be willing to cut a
    discount.

Has anyone tried approaching Nextel on this?

I was informed by an employee of the local Xerox office that they'd
dropped their corporate rate plan, and signed up with a local
reseller -- *because they got a much better price that way*.

I'm wondering if the Nextel corporate sales group is smart enough to
    breathe...

    Cheers,
