Is it just my area or what the heck happened? I have the "Free
Incoming 600" plan. When I got it it had unlimited free nights and
weekends. Now, if I go to Nextel's site and lookup that plan, it looks
as if you have to pay extra for that on the same plan?? Anyone else
notice this or not? Nextel has about the most expensive service as it
is and now they want to reduce services and make you pay extra for it?

If you look at Rate Plans for the Free Incoming it says.

Nextel Free Incoming Plans - All incoming calls are free. Includes Anytime
minutes, Nationwide Long Distance and Unlimited Direct ConnectSM. Plus,
receive Unlimited Night and Weekend minutes when you purchase either
Unlimited Nationwide Direct Connect or Unlimited Nationwide Direct Connect
    w/Two-Way Messaging.

Normally UN&W is $10 extra per month ala carte no matter what. Actually
this is the first time I've seen it offered in conjunction with a
promotion. Either way you're out $10, but stop complaining because that's
the way it's always been for the rest of us. My only guess is that they
messed up on your bill and gave you something for nothing. Try calling
customer care and yelling at a manager. You might get it for free.

If you already have unlimited nights/weekends, you will still continue
to have it. You have what the contract states and is written. I am
just glad that people are coming to realize that Nextel is a expensive
and terrible service and Verizon will be taking over from next month.
    This should be great!!!!!

Get a clue Foster, you asshole. Youve got your head so far up Nextels
butt you cant even read. Just 4 months ago I got the "Free Incoming
600" plan on 2 phones. It gave the free unlimited nights and weekends.
Now they dont. I dont really care. I have it. Just trying to point out
that its just something else Nextel is taking away then charging more
for another plan. I didnt pay $10 extra to get free unlimited nights
and weekends. It was part of the plan. Catching on yet, Dildo? They
didnt mess up, they didnt forget or make a mistake. Your such a
****ing idiot jumping in on **** you have no clue about.
<<"...Thats the way its been for the rest of us">>??
You that damn dumb? If 10 of your friends jumped off the Brooklyn
bridge, would you follow them? Clueless ****.

Re: Free Nights & Weekends No More?

Nextel changed all their Free incoming plan, reduce the features rather than
increase the charge. 1) No more unlimited free night & weekend
    2) Contract binding for 2 years instead of 1 year.
These changes started in July and confirmed by Nextel.
All mobile phone companies increase charge or decrease service due to the
recent mandate by the govt. to allow customers keeping their old number as
    they joint different company.

I'm not an expert, but could it be that all the carriers, not just Nextel,
have crappy plans this month. Think about this. The first month of every
quarter yields awful plans from every carrier. Rebates and promotions are
often cancelled or greatly reduced. The opposite is also true for the last
month of every quarter. So back in June, the Nextel plans were killer.

I don't understand why all the carriers do this, but they do and it happens
regularly...like every quarter. For the non-believers, I, the psychic Cel
Phone Guy, predicts that the Nextel plans are going to get better every two
weeks and...in the last month of the quarter (September), the public will be
offered a Free Nights & Weekend limited offer promotion on Free Incoming
    Plans.

Number Portability plan ordered to phone companies was to be effective a
    number of years ago...
All is does is work like a cellular call on your landline. It would make a
number to the person and not an area. The person moves and they always
have the same number was the idea. Billing issues is the concern and
trouble with it. GTE had these type of numbers on our system SS7 and they
worked fine. It is only billing issues the phone companies do not know
    what to do.
