I guess I must be too told, too conservative and maybe too intelligent for
    my own good.

Here I am, a end-user of a Nextel phone. I'm coming to the Nextel group to
learn more about Nextel, my phone, maybe even help out a fellow Nextel user
all because I like my product.

Can someone please help me to understand why we have a group of what I
perceive to be complete idiots waving their idiotic and immature ideas about
911, superman, the USA in bed with someone, and other insane ideas of agenda
in a newsgroup that has nothing to do with that.

As immature as I might sound and I know I'm breaking the language rules
    here, but:

    WHO THE **** CARES?

Is it possible to stick to the subject matter at hand?

    Oh I agree wholeheartedly.

I'm just perplexed with the subject. I can see people ripping Nextel apart,
or something along those lines. At least that would have some relativity to
the subject here, but when they are so far out in left field, I have to
    wonder why they bother.

I'm happy with my filters though. Between OE and my "I Hate Spam" software,
    its working wonderfully!

Hey Mike- do me a favor and add me to your filter. I figure that I'll
eventually say something that might piss you off, and quite honestly,
I'm willing to sort through the crap here to find something useful.
Your time is obviously worth more than mine (unlikely), so I'll save you
some. Of course, I do try to stay on task most of the time, but in the
event that I decide to have some fun, go ahead and filter em out now.

Scott, I'm not sure why you have a thorn up your butt on this issue but it
seems obvious you do based upon your wording above.

My contention is that the title of this newsgroup is "Nextel". Its not a
discussion of 911, dingo's, fireman, emergency services or anything else.
If you want to discuss Nextel then I'm all game. If you don't, they I
simply feel that the discussion doesn't belong here.

Sorry that you feel that I'm that anal, I'm not, but I'm sure even you can
distinguish between those that want to make good use of time here and those
who are truly misguided individuals who feel that any forum is available for
them to discuss any and all topics, even though they are unrelated to the
    newsgroup.

And so you add to the off topic posts yourself. I don't even see 9-11 stuff
any more. I just look right past it. I am tired of all this "whoa is me"
crap from 9-11. As for the blond jokes, and Superman cracks. Its easy to
just skip over them or block them.
I would love to maintain a Newsgroup server, just so I can go through and
    delete that kind of crap.
