They had an article here in Tampa a few weeks ago giving special #'s to
cellphone providers if your a customer to get better rate plans. I know
when i canceled my Sprint PCS service they offered me like 1k-2k anytime
minutes a month for $39.99 a month to stay.
Does anyone know if NExtel will offer a good rate like that? Because
they are falling way behind here in tampa for minutes and options at
there prices per month

If you hear anything useful, I'm interested too. FI500 isn't *too*
bad on me, but I certainly wouldn't object to paying less.

Mention, promo #555. It is supposed to give you 200 more peak minutes.
Good luck hopefully it will work.

Re: How to get Better Rate plans from nextel?
OK. I did this, and I got the following.
1500 Cell minutes (Anytime)
Biz net 2-way unlimited
national Long Distance
Free Incoming.
$69.95
$25.00 Usage Credit
$44.95 total bill, plus taxes, etc...
Yoiu just have to get through to the right person in Customer care, and tell
them you're getting better rates elsewhere.

Re: How to get Better Rate plans from nextel?
Here is the correct answer: You very politely explain to a customer
care rep that you can no longer afford the rates. You will need to
deactivate the account and yes you are aware of the ETF (early
termination fee) but this would be a better option than to continue
service you cannot afford. The customer care rep (CCR) will then
transfer you to account services.
Account Services only deals with deactivations, they are empowered to
offer rate plan discounts, bonus minutes, Nights & Weekend minutes etc.
Make sure that you have no other reason for leaving other than the price
and also state that you are extremely satisfied with the service just
cant afford it. This will get you a better rate.
