Re: Blocking GPS
Simply go into setup and turn the GPS part off. Is it nice to work for a
bass?

yah but don't forget the bass service option where all calls are logged and recorded so the bass can listen to them
later.
I have a friend that works for Motorola and he says that the Bass Spy (B.S.) software to allow the bass to listen to
all your conversations has not been implemented yet, but it is doing well in field tests and should be ready for roll
out the first quarter of 2004.

It is against the law to do this un less you are being told or court
ordered !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Blocking GPS
If I recall, "bass" are exempt from this law, they cannot speak. However,
the "Barking Fish", of the Great Lakes Region, are not exempt. The law
requires them to bark to notify others of the recording.

If you look on any search engine you will find plenty of links to B.S. (bass software)
I am sure you can find so much BS that you need a shovel to go through it.
I talked with my friend from Motorola today and the BS software will be released April 1st.

Well, I have a dedicated GPS, and unlike a GPS equipped phone, the
dedicated GPS makes a point of telling me when it can or cannot get a
signal. I've found that the signal doesn't bass through buildings very
well, and won't bass through metal much at all. Signal aquisition always
went faster in a ragtop, and took forever in a hardtop. Consider getting
a new cell phone case. I'd recommend a steel ammo box, though your
trunk, tool box or glove box should do in a pinch. Even throwing your
phone under your seat could reduce performance. Keep in mind that this
will also limit your range. When you reach the site, know that the
accuracy of the system is limited indoors. Throw it in a desk or filing
cabinet for that extra insurance. Also know that the phone should take a
moment to get a fix on your location. Get a headset with ptt, run it out
your new olive drab phone case, and you should be able to complete your
DC and phone calls without a GPS fix, provided you're in a good coverage
area.
Or, you could just play nice and work hard.
