I am trying to understand why the Nokia Phone Editor (NPE4.5.exe) has
started failing on my Windows 2000 SP4 ThinkPad (Model R32).

It fails on startup with the following Windows message:

'The instruction at "0x6023a76a" referenced memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be "read".'

It used to work ok but something (who knows what) changed.

I have removed and re-installed the Nokia PC Suite twice. Once from
the original installation media, once from a newer copy (May 2003)
downloaded from Nokia.

I have tried reporting the problem to Nokia but their problem
reporting website is broken [ go figure! ].
