child installer??? Nokia 6600

What the heck is 'child installer'?

I get a message saying something about child installer on my Nokia 6600 when
trying to run downloaded java apps.

I have to restart the phone to clear it as it seems to freeze the particular
section it appears in - such as browser. If I try to cancel out it asks me
if I am sure, I click yes, but it just continues.

No. I bought a Java-program by Handango (Periodic Table of the Elements)
who also caused this problem. I even had to remove the batterie for some
seconds before my 6600 would function again. The software-writer gave me
several new programms, but still 'Child Installer' appeared.

Could a firmware update cure this? How do you find out what version is
installed? And what is the latest?

It's no good.

I cannot install any java app. I am just confronted with App Closed
ChildInstaller.

I am trying a format, failing that I will contact Nokia in the morning.
