We can no longer get 6310i's here.
We would like a monochrome phone with bluetooth, triband and good battery
    life.

6310i was a great package, cant understand why there is no replacement for
    it.

Problem with colour is poor battery life and very irritating having the
backlight turning off all the time to preserve the battery.

    Any suggestions?

I'd say hold on a while. According to reliable sources, Nokia have not
confirmed to the public, but have confirmed to SOME franchise dealerships,
that they ARE planning a 6310i-format replacement handset that will be
    compatible with the CARK-91.

    Keep your eyes peeled.

.... I'm assuming by the way, that when they make a 6310i successor, they'll
keep your above-mentioned desired characteristics in mind.

    Thanks Froggie.
    I'll keep a look out.
The CARK-91 format is not as important to me as the other features including
    bluetooth.

The cark-91 compatability is pretty imortant to me as I have/have access to
    one.

In the UK, when the 6210 stopped becoming available, in the interim between
then and the 6310(i) being widely available as a contract option for
business, many companies ripped their cark-91's out in favor of the ericsson
alternatives. There's now a massive surplus of cheap cark-91's available to
anyone that wants one and has a nokia 6310, or any of the previous models in
    the family.

Maybe all the complaints finally got to them. If I were to change my
6310i now I need to change my CARK-91 as well, and then I might just
as well change to Sony-Ericsson or Siemens as well. F*** Nokia :-(
