    they're toooo hard...lol

the 6600 sucks as much as the next phone...but it all depends what you want
to use it for, so generalisations go nowhere...

Sounds like your wife is brilliant!!

So here are some facts (according to Karen):

The form of the phone is not user friendly - very awkward to handle.
Battery life - very poor for a Nokia.
BT implementation not up to par.
Sybian Series 60 is okay, but not well implemented on the 6600. Lots of
    lock-ups and restarts.
    No EDGE
Overall, lots of small bugs and flaws.
Not the best RF reception for a Nokia.

    The 6620 is much better.

But if you are getting one for free or cheap, why not?

I like many features of the 6600. I like the feel of the phone, and the
look of it. I like the Symbian platform.

However, the 6600 is completely incompatible with the Palm OS. I use my
Palm Zire 72 for many functions, and I have been very disappointed to
discover that I cannot synchronize between the 6600 and my Palm - or
with any Palm, for that matter. No one has been able or willing to
create a Palm driver for the 6600, and from what I have discovered there
    is a hardware incompatibility.

Another deficiency of the 6600 is that the only US carrier which
supports that model is T-Mobile. That is not generally a problem, as
long as you're safely within T-Mobile's coverage area. However, I
recently made a trip to Tennessee, and ended up in a large area that was
not covered by T-Mobile. I couldn't even "roam", and so my phone ended
    up completely useless.

The processor is slower than new smart phones, and so the menus lag a
bit. So when you want to press down to see your contacts, you may need
to wait a few seconds for it to load.

Otherwise a very good smart phone, of course the new ones are better -
but if its cheap and it good condition then I'd go for it.

    Hello Temperance,

Paul from palmOne here. Have you checked out the latest Phone Link
Update for the Zire 72? If you go to
    http://www.palmone.com/us/support/do...phonelink.html
you should find the Nokia 6600 listed as one of the supported phones.
    Hope that helps.

    Best

    Paul
