Hello ppl,
What i want to do is to have my N-gage connected to the PC downstairs which
has a broadband connection, and have the bluetooth dongle inserted in the
upstairs PC and use the bluetooth connection to access the internet from
upstairs. Now, while it sounds good in theory.....can it be done. And if so,
how? I appreciate any feedback on this.

It can be done!
Took me forever to get it to work on my NGage - my bluetooth dongle had
crappy drivers that didn't support the required bluetooth profile.
Look at this guide - it's written for the 3650 but the principal is the
same:

Thats exactly what i was wanting to do Lee. Thanks for explaining it better.
:-)
So, just 2 BT dongles will be the equivalent of a w/less LAN then yeah?
Cheers to you both for your replies. :-)

Depends really, bluetooth connections have a limited distance, works for
my laptop although the rooms are above one another so not a huge
distance, also speed is slower with bluetooth than wireless networking.
but it seems ok for browsing, just not huge file transfers

Yeah a bluetooth wireless network won't be lightning fast!
I had my laptop and desktop networked earlier using two USB SmartM bluetooth
dongles and XP reports a maximum speed of 700kb/s.
OK for internet browsing and stuff but not an ongoing solution for a real
network.
I also have two MSI USB WiFi dongles - 802.11b standard - and they're MUCH
faster.
Recently transferred nearly 4GB of stuff to my desktop and it was averaging
just under 500KB/s.
(Note the bluetooth speed is bits/sec and the WiFi speed kilo-bytes/sec).
Take a look at http://www.bluesoleil.com/products/index.asp for some very
easy to use bluetooth software - it may work where original drivers fail as
i found out myself.

Rrr but if the 2 pc's are connected via bluetooth and happily exchanging
info, i don't think the ngage will be accessing the internet via BT as the
BT Dongles will be busy with each other and I thought BT could only do 1
thing at a time, unlike wifi.. or have I gotten the wrong end of the
dongle, so to speak ???

not correct, I have 2 computers hooked up by bluetooth PAN (personal area
network) and I can connect with my ngage as well. PC Bluetooth dongles can
carry 7 devices at one time...
