Probably a silly question but...............
I have just got a nokia 6680 on vodafone.
I have not managed to get 3g signal on my phone even though I have checked
the coverage on the vodafone website and there is coverage in the whole
area.
Am I supposed to have a different sim card for 3g? I am using the sim card
that I was using in my Nokia 6230.
I have tried to make a video call and the message I get is "video call not
supported by network"
What can I do?
Many thanks

When I got a 3G phone from 02 I needed a different simcard, so I would
say that vodaphone would be the same, your best bet would be to call
them and ask.

If you have the latest version of firmware you may find in Menu> Tools>
Settings> Network> Network Mode, ensure it is set to Dual Mode.

Re: 3G sim card question
Thanks for the replies
I rang vodafone, they said I didn't need a different sim card for 3g.
Regarding the video calls, they told me to take my sim card out of the phone
then put it back in again and that would update the system. I did that and
am now able to make video calls.
Thanks again for any help

It very much depends on what country you're in.
Vodafone SIM cards work all right for me, both in GSM and 3G phones.
Some operators have been smart enough to supply their customers with
SIM cards that works in both 3G and GSM phones.
And others haven't.
