    Hi All,
My first post here. I purchased a replacement fascia / keypad / front cover
for my Nokia 6680. Does anybody have a link to instructions for removing the
existing factory fitted cover? I've found an exploded view at
http://www.uselessinfo.org.uk/ . But I cant get the external case latches to
    disengage from the phone chassis.

    Any help much appreciated,
    6680 fan

Where did you purchase the fascia? Is it aftermarket?

    Hi,
I bought it from ebay. I don't think it's a Nokia original. I just want to
replace the factory shell in order keep the original fascia in mint
condition until I sell it next time I upgrade.

What I do is - take off the battery cover - remove the battery

if you look at where the top of the battery was (under the back camera)
there are two square holes, where the facia clips under.

What I use is a snapped off paper-clip to give me a hook shape. Put the
hook into the hole and pull back to lift the facia clips off. If successful
the top section of the rear facia surrounding the camera will unclip.

With this off - the front just has to be pulled off carefully, run a nail or
a credit card around the edge and the front will pop off.

I do the same as you - keep it immaculate for eBay next year ;o)

Also, any chance of letting me know how you get on with it. I might
    purchase one too.

    Hi Easy,
Worked a treat! Took about 2 minutes to remove the old one and fit the new
one. Easy when you know how :-) thanks again to Meltey.

The one I got was from www.ebay.co.uk just do a search for "nokia 6680
black velvet" and it will come up. Got mine for 98p + £3.98 postage.

I purchased a black rubber one for my Nokia 6680 and pretty happy with
it. The new key pad doesn't feel quite as nice but does the job.

    SNAP(!)

I bought that same black "soft touch" cover too, for about that price!!
(This is starting to get weird)

You get a lot of double-takes / second glances from people as it is a rather
    sexy looking cover.

I have had quite a lot of people ask about it, even phone geeks stop and
ask what phone it is! It certainly makes an impression on people.
