I have a Nokia 6230 v. 5.24. I've been having the rather common problem of
it locking it. it hasn't done it much, and never really bothered me, but i
was aware of it. However this week, something very odd happened. I was
talking to someone and i received another call. i talked ot that person for
30 seconds and when i went back to the first number, no one was there. I
later called them back only to hear that she could hear me on the other
connection, but couldn't hear the person calling me, and couldn't talk to
me. Has anyone heard of this problem? Is it prevelant on v5.24, and would
    a firmware upgrade fix this?

    thanks,

Audio accelerator chip is probably your likely culprit for the audio
problem. Common to fail on 6230. Once changed, no more problems in that
    regard.
As for locking up, that's a separate fault, maybe and most probably the
flash chip. Again that can be replaced.
If the phone is under warranty, tell them there are TWO separate faults and
list them, make sure that BOTH issues have been resolved.

And, if the flash chip has been replaced before, after they do it this time,
sell it, quicksmart. Because that is high temperature applied to a small
section of the main board 4 times already (remove/replace) it'll start
stressing components around it, not to mention the board itself.
