    Howdy,

I have a Nokia 6600 and my provider is T-Mobile USA.

I created several MP3's I wanted to use as ringtones. They range in
size from 300k to 700k. I put them in the phone's memory card; and
although the file manager does see the files with the .mp3 extension,
there is a question mark next to them and it does not associate them,
will not play them... Is it possible to creat custom MP3 ringtones for
the Nokai 6600? Any specific software required or recommended?

    Any help or feedback appreciated.

    Thanks, Jon

no that phone only supports amr, no mp3 support, you can also convert your mp3 files to real media files then it will work. i used to have that phone, great phone, that in my opinion is the only drawback on that model.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I converted an mp3 to rm file and although it
can be played with the real player it cannot be used as a ringtone. I
will try to find an amr converter.

    Thank you, Jon

amr are a type of real media files, they are lower quality because they are mainly used on mobiles, you should be able to find lots of shareware programs that convert mp3 to amr for free just google it.

    cheers.

use a wav file instead and they try to use the same as ringtone. they
work the best better than amr files. wav is simply superb

Use .wav format but the size will dramatically increase. Try to convert
one ringtone and check the difference.
