Nokia says that the 6101 is tri-band GSM 850/1800/1900, but all the
other sites say it's GSM 900/1800/1900. Who is right? I would think
that it would be Nokia, but how can all these sites be wrong, unless
they have two models - one for the US/CAN and another for INT. I'll be
buying the phone in the US but need to have GSM 900 to use it in
    India.

Nokia produce a few phones with the same number, but different bands. If
you're buying the 6101 in the US, you're not likely to find one with GSM
    900. I bought my 3100 in the US, because I needed both 850 and 1900 for
the US, but I use Orange in the UK, and they're 1800 only. The UK version
    is (like the 6101) 900/1800/1900.

That sucks! I guess I'm going to have to order one of those unlocked
GSM phones over the net, but they look like they are way over-priced
(the unlocked 6101 GSM 900 phone is close to $80 more then at the
    store).
