memory card format problem

I am using nokia 6630 set, I am tryin to format memory card using
handset.
But it says that mery card : Already in use.

And I am not able figure out that where it is being used.

can anybody help me?

Maybe you have installed some applications on memory card that open on phone
startup, they work in the background but you don't see it. You can see what
is running with app manager.

Yeah, I have done the same, but the problem is that how can I get it
formatted?

I have reset my phone using *#7370#,so there is nothing in app manager.
and still I am facing the same problem while formatting the memory
card.

I generally format my memory card from my computer. You can connect a
card reader and then read/write/delete the contents, format your drive.
The operations are much faster. You can try this. I do not have a 6630
so I cant tell you how to format from you phone.

I suggest that you use system explorer 1.8 which can be downloaded from
the applications forum, and use the kill process function... just kill
the process that you think has no relation with phone functions then
reformat your card. if It does not work do what mr. electron says.
