Dear Folk,
Have Nokia really lifted their game yet, and given us a PC program that
actually works. To date, even with some updates I'm fed up with being unable to
get my 6255 phone to connect to my PC via the expensive DKU-2 cable I bought to
do this job with. Can anybody please help me. Thanks.
I've got version 6.5.10 installed.
Yours Sincerely,
Phillip Truscott.

The latest version is 6.80.20 - although I (personally) don't think it's
any better than the previous version I had. My 6680 connects fine using
both the USB lead and bluetooth - maybe you've not got it set up correctly?

Hello!
Have you tried Oxygen Phone Manager II ( http://www.opm-2.com/ )?
You can install Oxygen Phone Manager II as follows:
1) Uninstall Nokia PC Suite.
2) Install DKU-2 cable drivers from
http://www.nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,,84342,00.html .
3) Install Oxygen Phone Manager II ( you can download the trial version from
http://www.oxygensoftware.com/en/download/ ).
4) Open 'Tools' -> 'Options' and check 'DKU-2/CA-53' option.
Does this help? Can you connect the phone now?
Best regards, Maxim Vyalkov.

Re: Nokia PC suite
Yes, I have tried it but it is unsuitable for my phone.
Never had any trouble with my Kyocera. Never buy another Nokia if I can't get
this one to talk as easily to my PC as the Kyocera did.

Would you point us, what functionality must be improved in our software?
Have you encountered with connection problems with our software?
Thank you in advance for cooperation! We appreciate your feedback!

That wasn't spamming you idiot, he is replying to a post and
contributing to the forum.

I think the issue is that everytime "Oxygen" reply to a problem it is
always to recommend that the user tries their own software. So very
rarely are they actually trying to solve the users problem, almost all
replies are just to promote/sell their own product.
Personally I use PC suite, as its free and does everything that I want
to do with my phone.

If their product could help the question being asked of course it is
contributing and I cannot see a problem BUT it must be relevant to the
thread.
I have challenged them in the past for replying with an irrelevant
advert in a thread in the past. I also challenged them for spam in the
past and requested they put COM: in the subject line when informing
newsgroups of new versions of their software.
I also agree these updates should be kept to a bare minimum, maybe only
include what has been updated or improved rather than a complete spiel
on the product.
I would also encourage them to post replies to threads with personal or
private ideas to contribute that do not involve their product, surely
they must have ideas for some of the questions in the newsgroups. Of
course I wouldn't expect them to reply to every thread but if they have
something of value to contribute that does not relate to their product
it would give people more respect for them.

Yeah, well said Simon.
I've had words with them too and reported them to Google Groups, but
they keep on spamming.
Personally, I use PC Suite and have never had any problems with it.
Over bluetooth, IR and cable, it's always reliable and stable. It
doesn't have loads of irrelavent functionality, so it doesn't take up
loads of hard drive space or slow your machine down when you're using
it.
Anyone who feels that they must have a copy of the Oxygen bloatware, go
get it from Kazaa or Morpheus or BitTorrent. That way, at least you
don't have to pay for something that you'll throw out later, as I did!
My views are mine & mine alone, but I know that I represent other forum
users who are p*ssed off with this spamming (it's NOT 'contributing to
the forum' either numpty-brain and neither are your half-baked
comments).
