    hello,

I am having trouble connecting my Nokia N70 phone to my Laptop and PC
I am running Windows XP Home Edition and PC Suite 6.6.18

When I click on Get Connected button and connect the cellphone, I never
    get my
    computer to recognize it.

    Please advise.

    Hi seajay!

First of all, how are you trying to connect your phone? Cable, IR or
    Bluetooth?

If it's cable, is the cable a Nokia cable or is it a cheaper version?
PC Suite is a bit fussy about the type of cable you try to use. you may
need to install a driver for your cable.

IR, there's normally not any problem with, unless your IR port is
    faulty.

If it's bluetooth, you may be experiencing pairing problems with the
phone. Try accessing the phone under 'My Bluetooth Places' and pair
with it using your own pairing code (0000 or 1234 or something
similar). Then go back into your phones Bluetooth menu and select the
name of the computer under the list of paired devices. From the
options, select 'Set as Authorised'. You should now be able to connect
    OK.

    Any probs, let me know.

Re: Problem connecting Nokia N70 via CA-53 cable

    Hello,

    thanks for your reply.

I am using CA-53 cable USB connection that came with the phone (brand
    new).
my PC is not recognizing my N70 phone
I've made lots of research online and it seems
so many people are having the same problem.

I tried to install the drivers for the cable.
    still having the same problem.
I tried to install on my laptop and PC both running Windows XP Home
    Edition
and I am having the same problem.

    Thanks in advance

Re: Problem connecting Nokia N70 via CA-53 cable

    Hiya.

What I would recommend, is that you contact your nearest Nokia Service
Agent and ask them to upgrade your phone to the latest firmware. This
will eliminate the possibility of it being a problem with the phone.
You'll need proof of purchase for your phone to do this.

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the PC Suite under Windows, then
run Nokia's Clean-up program to remove registry entries etc. When you
run the program, select 'Other Problem' and it will remove all
superfluous entries. Remember to uninstall the cable driver too, before
    running the Clean-up program.

Once you've done all that, download and install the latest version of
PC Suite which, I understand, has many of the connectivity problems
    fixed.

    Hope this sorts you out.

    Glenn
