    Hi,

    A quick Google - http://tinyurl.com/v3zdj - seems to suggest this is a
fairly common bug but I'll post for any suggestions anyhow...

Immediately prior to the phone being replaced yesterday, I made a backup of
a Nokia 6111 using the following kit:

Nokia 6111 SW V5.77, Windows XP Pro laptop, Nokia PC Suite V6.82 & Content
Copier V3. Bluetooth connection. I'd previously backed up the contents of a
Nokia 6100 using the same equipment and restored it onto the 6111, so I know
    the kit works in principle.

Go to restore the data to the new phone, and after some initial connection
foibles (to do with pairing), it starts to restore, hanging at 29%
(restoring contacts). Initially tried using Bluetooth & IR to eliminate an
issue with the connection method, no joy. It's late at night by now and I've
got an early start today so I only had time for a quick dig around, but...

    - Suggestion to restore the phone's settings to factory fresh. Done, no
    change.

    - Suggestion to update PC software to V6.83. Stupidly didn't set a system
restore point but hey - even so, no change.

    - Suggestion that it's copyrightable material causing this error. Nope - the
log file clearly states "restore of contacts failed" although they appear to
be largely intact, all the media files appear to have restored ok so far as
the log file was concerned (although I must admit in hindsight I didn't
check every single media folder on the phone for this).

Has anyone else come across this problem, and managed to get around it? Some
of the posts a couple of clicks from Google don't seem to hopeful that
there's a reliable fix for what seems like a very common problem :-(

    Many thanks

    Jon.

I have a 9300i and had a similar problem using bluetooth. Eventually
the connection fell down and could not be restored. On taking up with
Nokia they advised they did not support the version of bluetooth that
I had with WinXP Pro and would only support an earlier version.
Difficult to believe I know but thats Microsoft for you. They
suggested I use the cable connection if I couldn't revert to earlier
    software. The cable was OK.
    Just a suggestion. Good luck.
    Alastair.

If you want to see if it really is a connection problem (or if you just
want to check it out anyway), why not give LogoManager Pro Suite a go:

    http://download.logomanager.co.uk/prosuite_demo.exe

Even if you don't want to shell out for it, it might be worthwhile
trying to see if you can at least work around the problem.

Indeed - thanks for the suggestion. Possibly a silly question but on the
off-chance I'll ask anyway... Can LogoManager swallow backup files created
    in Nokia Content Copier?

    Thanks

    Jon.

At the moment the answer is no, however you are not the only person to
have asked me this week (Christmas phone syndrome??) If you'd like me
to take a look at the idea for you or maybe throw some kind of
converter together, feel free to contact me with a sample file via the
    web site.
