What file format can i convert small dvd clips into so my Nokia N95 will
play them. I have tried 3gp but the quality is very poor, I am not sure
which file formats the N95 supports. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there.
A quick search for playable file formats can easily be done on Google.
Your videos will look and sound much clearer if you increase the video bit
rate and audio bit rate but in doing that increases the file size.
For much better quality. convert to mpeg4. (that's what your captured file
formats are in .mp4) again, the file sizes increases due to the display
ratio.
I use a program called 'Xilisoft' to convert files to play on my n95. I
usually encode my files to .3g2. If you have a large memory card, then you
can store a lot of clips depending on the length.

I might be missing something here, but what about Nokia Video Manager? This
converts most formats for me?

Hi there,
I just responded to the original thread from 'Martin'
He wanted to 'convert small dvd clips' Now am assuming hes converting .vob
files.
I haven't used nokia video manager but I don't think it supports .vob
formats.
Nokia video manager is ok for converting basic all round formats but there's
no advanced options to change settings. I don't even know if there are
custom settings for different models.. Only basic outputs such as 'low',
'med' and 'high'
I also assume that 'Martin' has tried this as its part of nokia suite, that
is why i had never mentioned it.

I use mediacoder 0.5.1 which includes the settings for N70. I have a Nokia 6267 and I can
play the videos. With mediacoder you can also change the quality (frames per second).
I now have some cartoons shrinked from divx (220mb, 20 minutes) to 51 mb. But I would like
to have the clips bigger as they use only a part of the display. Anyone has good settings
for the display of the 6267 model?
Playing the video uses a lot of energy.
Giovanni.
