    Sorry if this is the wrong group but my Google mojo has left me and I
    don't get the answer I need in the many Nokia and N800 forums about
    this.

    When I'm not in range of Wi_fi I use my mobile phone for data transfer
    for my N800 but don't want to use half of it downloading adverts. Can
    anyone recommend a decent adblocker or give some tips on stopping them
    from getting near my machine like something along the lines of a HOSTS
    file? Any help or pointers appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Hey WC;

    Adblock Plus was ported to the mozilla-based browser found in OS2008.
    Not sure which OS version you're running but, if it's OS2008:

    I have not used this and would recommend checking any comments about the
    extension before applying.

    Not seen it in the browser preferences but:

    Is very helpful. I'm not on the tablet just now but first sight looks
    like this is the thing I need.

    Hmm, this may be a solution to my adblocking problem too.

    I had been using privoxy to block stuff for a whlie. I havent seen gthe above
    solution, but it may be easier to setup than privoxy.
