Nokia 6610 can you lock capitals on when typing a text?

As the subject asks, both myself and my wife have a 6610 and find it a pain
to switch it to CAPS after typing something making a mistake and then having
to retype, it's suddenly gone back to lower case. Can you permanently lock
it to type CAPS only?

Nope, it's another Nokia software 'feature'.
Good as most Nokia features are, there is often a downside.

I'd say it's time to send your phone back for an all important software
upgrade - I had a 6610 for a week and ended up returning it because
simply scrolling through an entry in my phone book caused it to
apparently reboot, then lock up. So I got a 6310i instead.

Exactly!! I hate not having the T9 on the 5110 which i got for free...lucky
thing i also have a 5210
