    Bluetooth or infra red
    cosidering all i want is to d/l me pics and play wiv logomanager type
    proggies

    any advice appreciated

    bluettoth.
    Bluetooth suports more distance that infrared,( 10 meters)

    If that REALLY is all you want to do with it then I suppose infrared would be
    ok and is marginally cheaper to add to a desktop PC. But for use where you
    need a connection for a longer time (i.e. internet use or when you do a lot of
    synchronizing with Outlook or something like downloading content from
    avantgo.com or anything involving Nokia's PC suite then I'd go for bluetooth.

    Blue tooth is relatively more expensive ( $90), Irda comes ready to use on
    most laptops and cost only arround $40 , the only bluetooth advantage is the
    wireless earphones , otherwise distance doesnt justefy the use of bluetooth
    over Irda..

    correction...bluetooth goes thru walls, Infra-red needs line-o-sight

    i wanna cruise on the net on my phone in the bedroom without having to take
    my computer (in the study) with me too...
