I cannot get Opera to connect with my o2 sim as above. It just drops the
connection but it connects to the wap browser ok. I am trying to connect
via gprs. I dont have this problem when I use t-mobile gprs. Does anyone
have the settings for o2?

You are probably using the PAYG o2 WAP GPRS gateway as your Internet Access
Provider. Apparently the Opera browser will not connect over a GPRS WAP
gateway - this link
(http://help.opera.com/Nokia/6600/6.1...ml#accesspoint) will
take you directly to Opera's online FAQ regarding this matter.
What you require is a GPRS gateway specifically for mobile internet access
- o2 do provide such a thing but unfortunately not for PAYG customers.
This link (http://ota.o2.co.uk/productsservices...0,,141,00.html)
will take you to the relevant o2 page.
I'm not sure if the o2 PAYG non-GPRS (circuit switched) settings will allow
the Opera browser to connect, these can be sent direct to your phone from
this o2 link
(http://ota.o2.co.uk/O2UK/index.jsp).
