I had posted a recent thread about unlocking dct3 phones and thanks to
Simon and Lister I have got that bit sorted out in my head.
There is now another basic question that I need answering.
Are pay as you go price plans linked to sim cards or to phones? e.g. I
have got a vodafone pay as you go sim that is on the all calls price
    plan. If I unlock a different network(say t-mobile) 3410, and use my
vodafone sim, will I still have the same price plan?

SIMs are tied to the network they are on so of course if you go to a
different network you will have the price plan that you agreed to with
that network. It has nothing to do with the phone and everything to
    do with the SIM.
