I asked this at Treo Central but didn't get any answers so I'll try this
    here.

On my Sanyo 5300 if I go to the Vision Homepage, select Messaging, then
Instant Messaging, I get a page with three links: AOL Instant Messenger, MSN
Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger. However, if I do this exact same process
on my Treo 600 I only get two links: AOL Instant Messenger and Yahoo!
Messenger. In both cases it looks like the IM link page is
    http://vision.sprintpcs.com/papz/con...dPageID=msg04.
Anyone have any ideas what's going on or how I can get to MSN Messenger from
    my Treo?

Check with www.sprintpcsinfo.com hatoncat seems aggressive in getting
    Handspring to deliver.

    Hi,

Kevin from Handspring here. I do know how you can get MSN Messenger on
your Treo. Try www.pdaapps.com to download verichat for Treo 600,
which allows you to access aol, msn, icq, and yahoo IM, all in one
    application.

    Hope that helps!

    Kevin

    Hello Kevin. Mailed and posted

There are reports that Handspring axed Bluetooth from the Treo 600 design at
the last minute to cut costs.

Since it uses Palm OS 5, no extant Bluetooth SD card works with it.

    Any plans to assist developers?

And what about the Mail app the SprintPCSinfo.com has posted for the Sprint
Treo as Handspring only included it with the GSM Treo 600?

P.S. Whats the best deal on a Treo 300, Amazon is apparently now sold out.

It seems strange to me that I have to pay for software/service at $24.95 for
the first year and $19.95 for subsequent years to do MSN Messenger on my
Treo when I don't have to buy anything to use my Sanyo 5300 for MSN
    Messenger.

The phone may just not be compatible with it yet. MSN and sprint just
started working together and they may not have it working on all phones at
this point. AIM didn't work until just recently.

As an alternative, there are some IM applications on some free sites.
www.3gupload.com has AirIM.jad and i believe it does MSN.

it's WORTH paying for... it's SO much better than Messenger through the
Vision portal. with verichat, you can log into MSN Messenger, ICQ, Yahoo
and AOL messengers all at the same time. it works through a proxy that uses
short messages. so people see you online even if you close verichat and
open another program or are doing something else with the phone. you have
away messages.... you can setup alerts that let you know when a particular
buddies logs on. i think they have a free trial to let you try it out
    before you buy.

While the Treo 600 does have SD/IO support in the slot and there are
some solutions out there for bluetooth, we don't expect to see
anything in the near future. One reason is that there are no sftware
drivers for the bluetooth card out there for Palm OS 5 devices and
there's not a lot of incentive to do this. Obviously there is also a
lot of bluetooth being built into products so a 3rd party is somewhat
reluctant to make a compatible solution for palm OS 5 devices.

So, long story short, we are compatible if a 3rd party comes out with
a solution for Palm OS 5, but we do not see any solutions on the
    immediate horizon.

Sorry, I'm not clear on that, but I'll forward your question to
someone at Handspring and see if I can get an answer for you.

    > P.S. Whats the best deal on a Treo 300, Amazon is apparently now sold out.

I'm not sure where the best price would be now, but if you type
    "compare prices" "treo 300"
into Yahoo's search box, you'll get alot of places that can help you
    locate the best price.

    Hope this helps,

    Kevin

Yes, I have to admit that it's pretty cool. But you have to understand that
my personal motto is CIGFIB (Cheap is Good, Free is Better) so I'd really
rather have this functionality available without paying extra, especially an
    annual fee.
