Hi all,
I have checked out the manufacture sites, manuals, etc. of different
phones that have speakerphones built in to them but have not been able to
find out the information I am looking for. It would be greatly appreciated
if anybody out there could help me or know what direction to point me to.
What I am looking for is the wattage and/or the decibel rating on the
speaker themselves on the speakerphones. I am researching this for a family
relative that has a little trouble with hearing and as such I am looking for
the loudest or close to it to accommodate. Also on some of the phones I
have looked at so far I do not see the speaker, are they all inside the
phone? Is there any where the speaker is outside (built into the cover)?
Thanks to all that can help. I guess I am also possibly looking to compare
to Nextel speakerphones also, I have heard one which sounds loud on just a
low setting. Help is always appreciated. Thanks

Re: Specs on the speakerphones?
Reports are that Sprint's new ReadyLink phones have relatively loud
speakerphones. Only you can determine if they suit your purpose.

Have you considered buying your relative a hands free ear bud instead ...? I
only ask as using a real loud speakerphone in public is not in the best
taste of those who might be within range to hear both sides of the
conversation ...

Re: Specs on the speakerphones?
My wife uses the Sanyo 4900. I think it has the best speaker phone I've
heard. Of course, YMMV.
