Dialer hears several rings before my phone rings

I have an issue with my cell phone. A person dialing will hear 3 rings
before my phone rings for the first time. Is there a way to correct this?

Do you have a phone that can be set to vibrate first, then ring, like the
Kyocera phones can? If so, check that you have it set to "ring only."

If you have a ringtone other than one that comes with the phone there may be
a delay. I got the Mission Impossible theme and it takes two seconds before
it actually starts ringing. I can see someone is calling before the sound
starts. Try a different ringer...

Its normal to hear 2 or 3 rings at the land line caller's end before
your phone starts ringing. I can call several different models
of Sprint phones in the same room and I'll hear 2 0r 3 rings at my
end before the Sprint phones starts to ring.

Even does it with our Cingular phones too.
