    Hello,

Ok, I am getting a new vga 1000 monday, and i understand that i can
use it to connect to the internet on my laptop if i have 1) the proper
cable (radio shack has a compatible on - 310 model, i think), 2) the
usb drivers from futuredial.com, and 3) a dialer program that will
allow me to get out. Now, do i dial out to my isp number (earthlink,
etc?), or do i dial the #777 which connects to the vision/data portion
of the phone - and in turn taking me right on the internet?

If i have unlimited vision, then ocnnecting to my laptop will not cost
any per minute charges, or any minutes from my plan - correct?.

Also, i have heard mixed reviews about whether or not connecting to
the net via a laptop from the phone is frowned upon by sprint. I
mean, some say they have done it and still do it -- and others say
that sprint is threatening to shut their service down -- whats the
    final word?

    Please let us know,

    Thanks,
    Chris

Right, except you don't need a dialer "program", you only need to set
up a dial-up connection in your Windows software, to dial "#777",
using the USB modem. The phone must be connected and turned on
    while setting this up.

    Correct.

There is no final word. SprintPCS seems to be ignoring those who make
minimal use of this function, but a few who abuse it have had their Vision
package cancelled. What level consitutes 'abuse' is anybody's guess,
but apparently only those who were using several gigabytes per month
have been affected by this policy. I use this setup for downloading email
and casual web browsing when I'm out of town, and have never been
    warned by Sprint about it.

What John said ... About the your last paragraph, I haven't seen anyone
complaining that they have been threatened by SPCS to shut down their
service, at least not for a long time.

The deal is, SPCS does not want you to try replacing your regular ISP
service with Vision. If you use sporadically, it shouldn't be a problem.
