I just got the new Sanyo VM4500, and the versions of SnapSync (1.3) and
SnapMedia (1.0) I got last year for the 4900 don't work for the new
phone. Could someone please help me out here? It should be the same
software as for the RL 2500 as they are virtually identical phones,
except the VM4500 has a camera/camcorder built in.
Futuredial has not made it easy or pleasant to get the "modules" that
make these programs work for my new phones.
For SnapSync, you can *supposedly* log in to the get the "module" (and
presumably the updated program). You need the email you used to
register and the serial number on the CD they sent. Well, it doesn't
work!
So I called their support number during their working hours, and got a
recording "Press 1 for registration issues" ... you get a pre-recorded
message saying you need to send them your info (email and S/N), and
within five business days they'll send you a new CD. That means it
would be more like two weeks before I actually receive and could use
SnapSync.
SnapMedia they treat differently -- they require that you mail them
original CD and *then* they'll mail you an updated one!
This kind of "support" is not what endears a company to its customers...
SnapMedia I can live without I suppose until they get around to sending
me a replacement CD.
But I really need SnapSync for all the contacts I had in my 4900. Could
anybody be so kind as to provide a URL where I might download the
SnapSync "module" for the VM4500/RL2500? (Assuming, of course, it would
even work with version 1.3...)
I would *greatly* appreciate it!

Pick whatever options gets you to a person.
once you get them they will reset your info for you or give you another reg
number if you already registered so you can get into the site to get the
module.

Thanks, Chris, I'll try that Friday, though I rather doubt anybody will
be there. (MORAL: *Never* buy a technical device the day before a
holiday or weekend...

As I thought -- Futuredial is closed today. They'll supposedly be open
Monday. What a pain.
