Quick question for you folks:

Currently I am on the free and clear 300 AT and unlimited N/W plan for $30.
(zip code 76543) If I add F&CA for $5 does that only apply in my home area
only? The website says additional per minute charges apply for domestic
long distance, so I'm assuming it's home area only. Second question is, if
a person is on F&CA, will they roam onto Alltel's service in the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan?

Mark, I have no clue why the website has that verbiage, as I've verified LD
is included, no matter where I go in the US ... As to who you will roam on,
it depends on what phone you have and who SPCS has made roaming agreements
with. I mention the phone as those phones that are only single bands (1900
CDMA), it's going to be limited to a few providers coast to coast. If the
phone is dual band, dual mode (1900 CDMA & 800 Analog), it's going to offer
more roaming partners. Going with a dual band tri mode, which also includes
800 CDMA, more providers obviously.

Long story short, you may or may not be roaming on Alltel, depending on who
SPCS made their roaming agreement with in that area.

Thanks Bob,

I did a google search (didn't think to do it before I posted.. sorry) and
got the LD question straightened out. As to which phone I have, I currently
use the Sanyo 4900. I am considering switching to either the Sanyo 8100 or
the Samsung VGA1000, so I'm not worried about limiting my possiblities. I
haven't run into any roaming issues locally, but would be interested in
adding F&CA for the occasional trip back home (Wisconsin and Upper Michigan
areas). In Michigan, it looks like Alltel is the only major player for CDMA
coverage. The part of Wisconsin I go to, Green Bay and points north, appear
to be covered mostly by Verizon now, although I do get Sprint coverage at my
parents house. So basically I'm looking at renewing my contract and getting
the 7PM nights as possibly adding the F&CA at a later point.

So how about it? Anyone have any experience using F&CA in the Upper
Peninsula? I've talked to people on the verizon group who are extended
network on Alltel, and I'm hoping that Sprint has a similar agreement.
