I know that you can email a txt message directly to a SprintPCS phone
by sending it to <SPCS #>@messaging.sprintpcs.com and to an AT&T phone
by emailing <AT&T #>@messaging.att.com.
What about for the other carriers?
Verizon
Cingular
T-Mobil
Nextel
Thanks.

I thought AT&T was <AT&T#>@mobile.att.net
For Cincinnati Bell wireless it is <CBW#>@gocbw.com

Re: Domains for emailing cellphones?
Many thanks, Pat! A Cingular rep told me today that it was <cing
#>@messaging.cingular.com, I'll report back if both work.

Re: Domains for emailing cellphones?
I could not get this to work.
I tried my brothers number @tmomail.com and I get
unrouteable mail domain "tmomail.com"
I thought I needed the 1 but the problem is not with the alias but with the
domain ???
Also is their an equivalent for sprint ? I have a [email protected] can I
mail this and it goto my phone ? I am trying it now so I may discover this
on my own :-)

No, [email protected] does not go directly to the phone. To get that email,
you would have to access Vision and then download the email to your phone.
You can get text message directly sent to your phone, via
[email protected] Only 160 characters can
be included in the TM. Actually, if someone tries to send you a TM from an
email program, they won't be able to use the full 160 characters as some
characters are used for the header.
People can send you a TM to your phone from the following link -
http://messaging.sprintpcs.com/sml/guestCompose.do where they only have to
plug in your 10 digit phone number. This is the preferable way to do it, as
the full 160 characters can be used.

Re: Domains for emailing cellphones?
Follow-up:
Pat's <Cingular #>@mobile.mycingular.com DOES work.
The Cingular rep's "<cing #>@messaging.cingular.com" does NOT work.
Thanks again, Pat!

Well, there is one more thought to add with regards to using the email
[email protected] . If one just puts the message in the subject line, and
keeps that to 32 (or maybe it's 36) or less characters, the email
notification to your phone will act as the TM itself.

Hm, I am pretty sure it used to work.
Try using [email protected] instead?

Re: Domains for emailing cellphones?
Ohhhh Cool !! that would be nice. a nice short message ability like call
home or check your mail or dinner is at 1700
I am working on making the java script work on my own site so I can set up
an internal (IE private at home on my local network) page so we call all
"page" each other's phones.
that would be neat. not uber useful but would be fun to do :-)
