They call this broadband? My 14.4 modem was faster than PCS Vision.
It takes 20 seconds to load up 100 characters worth of text. The
selection of "screen savers" is a joke. The games are retarded
(Pacman is impossible to see and blurry as hell on my VI660). MobiTV
is a such a great concept, but so poorly executed.
I was so excited about getting PCS Vision with my new phone, but it's
such a retarded service. Why anyone would subscribe to it is beyond
me.

Re: PCS Vision is a joke
I don't think PCS/V claims to be broadband. PCS/V gives you many data
services via a mobile phone connection... comparable to 56k dialup at best.
Give it time and it will become faster. It's not there yet. Don't blame
PCS/V.
If you want broadband wireless, get an ultraportable laptop with WiFi and
connect to PCS/V (or whoever else) that way.

Re: PCS Vision is a joke
That IS an odd thing.
When I connect my Sayo 6400 to my Laptop I get some VERY nice speeds
averaging 10-11k/s
Pages are not speedy but they are nicely faster than a modem (downloads) lag
time kills page loads so its the equal roughly of a 56k connection.
BUT As I am assuming you referenced below Loading pages on the PHONES SCREEN
is HORRENDOUSLY slow. I mean tiny small under 2k pages take forever
sometimes.
I am thinking it is the phone/software (browser) and not the phone/data
connection.

Retarted? [sic]
Is that like someone who doesn't understand grammar or the concept of hyperbole?

Ah, it's nice to see that centers for higher learning are pumping out students,
whose priorities in a phone service are games and screen savers.
I guess I'm just old fashioned, in that I use my phone purely as a communication
device.

Re: PCS Vision is a joke
I've never seen them call it "broadband". Then again, I guess it depends
on which "they" you are referring to. I challenge you to be more vague.
As far as the "blurry as hell on my VI660" remark, it's not the game's
problem. You bought a cheap phone. Deal with it. You had an opportunity to
compare that phone to all the others Sprint PCS offers, and you chose that
one, even with its obviously inferior display qualities. Now, you're
complaining in such a manner as to point the finger at Sprint PCS, where
the mistake is entirely yours.
Finally, please state why you feel MobiTV is "so poorly executed." Don't
leave us hanging, I'd love to hear this one.

Re: PCS Vision is a joke
I feel that I might be feeding a troll, but my experience with Vision is
that its slowness is more a by-product of a slow processor in the phone
itself. I had a N400, and now I have a Treo 600, with its own net software
(i.e. Blazer, and some third party stuff I installed), and considering its
140mhz (I think) processor, it works considerably faster at displaying
content.

Re: PCS Vision is a joke
I can access the Internet at 145 K on my laptop with a Treo 600 and Pdanet.
Works for me.

Obviously somebody need to be arrested as apparently someone at sprint
is holding a gun to the head of this "student"--or otherwise holding
him against his will and forcing him to use/retain vision, and possibly
taking advantage of a mentally challanged individual. Help I fell and
I can't get up)
I had heard the current education programs were in trouble, but I had
no idea just how bad. Possibly someone could contact the local
authorities, who with the swat team, might go out and rescue this
obviously helpless soul from the clutches of vision, and file the
appropriate charges against the offenders.
Don't forget the related charges cocerning the screen savers, etc
That the problem with the education system today, even someone with a
college education ain't learned how to cure this "most" complex
situation. ..Tragic, it's just tragic that things like this are
allowed to happen.. Possibly, the congress should look into
registering vision, like guns are registered, you know, to keep down
the vision related crime..write your congressman, why have I not heard
of this on CNN or Fox news--thank goodness the word is getting out
over the internet--spread the word, beware of "THE VISION" Sounds
like a Steven Spillburg movie plot.
I am feeling very weak, can't type anymore (thank God)--The vision is
taking over my minimal faculties --possbily the medical folks will
have a "vision shot" by next vision season, unless of course it
continues to mutuate to a more powerful strain when even more will be
infected.
Or maybe it's like dope, since they give it awayfor 2 months to just
get you "hooked"---which means we need clinics to treat the Vision
Adicts and possbily also "VA" meetings (you know, like AA for
alcholics)
This problems is so complex, others, can you offer suggestions to wipe
out this scourge.

I disagree, I am very happy with my vision service on my phone. (VGA-1000).
Web browsing is plenty fast, pictures and ringtones take just a few seconds
to download. I can check weather, news, sports, etc... anytime, anywhere I
want. I can check my email, and not just my sprintpcs mail either. I can
do google searches, etc....
Just yesterday, my wife went furniture shopping while I was at work. When
she found something she liked and wanted my input, she just snapped a pic
and sent it to my phone. From the time my ringer went off till I had the
picture on the screen is no more than 10 seconds. She could even attach a
short voice message with each picture. Without vision, we couldn't have
done this.
Also, you mention that the selection of screen savers and ringtones are a
joke. Do you know there are other sources of these files that are much
larger that are also FREE! Why pay for sprints screensavers and ringtones
when you can get them free from many many sources.
Pacman plays and looks fine on my phone too. As do other games. perhaps it
is just your phone that your not happy with, and not the vision service. Go
play with a few different phones at your sprint store, you may find
something else that is better suited to your wants.
good luck,
Matt
