I don't know if anyone else had trouble, but today the email access on my
phone went nuts, it kept asking for my PCS log on, when entered, would then
go back to the preceding page or display "Application Error".

    Call *2
    On hold 5 minutes
talked to a rep, who then transferred me to tech support
    On hold 20 minutes
    Disconnected

    OK, try again
    Call *2
    On hold 10 minutes
talked to a rep, who then transferred me to tech support
    On hold for 30 minutes
Reached someone who seemed to know what he was doing - said he had to wipe
me out of the system and start all over
I asked what does that do, does it wipe out all of email and applications
Answer: No, just resets user name and passwords
    Wait 10 minutes
Told its all done, turn phone off for 30 minutes, turn on everything will
    be fine

    Wait 30minutes
tried to access email - no good
try to access email on PC username and password rejected

    Go into sprintpcs.com
All of email has been deleted

Don't know where to go from here, Verizon I suppose

Dammit. That was a deprovision/reprovision. And yes, it=20
deletes all email & Shortmail messages, plus reset the=20
    email password.

    Sorry, man.

A "Sorry, Man" doesn't get his email back. Why doesn't SprintPCS
    properly train its people?

How come you didn't recommend ATT, Phil? Are they worse then Sprint?

Ah, yes, this is how I wanted to spend Sunday, trying to solve technical
issues with my cell phone provider. Since I still could not access email,
I had to call back, and you are correct, a deprovision/reprovision is
precisely what they did. I asked the rep of the day if he could get my
deleted email back, and he said - I kid you not - that because it had not
been placed in the trash folder first there was no to retrieve it. ... Can I
ask how much training you guys actually get?

Anyway, on the bright side, 90% of the email that goes to the cell phone is
stuff autoforwarded from another account, so, I have a backup of most of the
mail, just not on the phone. About 10% was premanently lost. Also, he was
able to fix the password business for web access to the email.

I still have to do is go up the road a ways to where I can get a signal and
see if the phone still works.

Now the real funny thing: After all the trouble last night, each rep really
really wanted to help by giving me a 5% discount if I would sign long term
contract. Aside from the fact that I already have a one year contract,
first they said I get 5% if I signed up for one year. This morning I had to
    sign up for 2 years.

I politely declined, I get very very nervous when Sprint goes into my
account, you don't know what they will screw up trying to help you.

    NO kidding...

This is what I WANTED to get done a couple months ago and they couldn't get
    it done.

    6 weeks.

    That's not why. It's because a deprovision/reprovision is the Vision=20
access version of wiping a chalkboard clean then rewriting what was on=20
it. You can't retrieve it because it was completely erased, and then=20
    re-created from (essentially) scratch.

It wouldn't have been recoverable even from the trash folder because,=20
technically speaking, you have a whole new trash folder.

If there was anything I could do to recover it, I would. Unfortunately,=20
all I have to offer is my apologies.

So why aren't you on Verizon, Phillipe? Was your credit too sub-prime?
That would explain why you're on AT&T... the only thing you qualified
    for was a Go Phone.

Do you have anything USEFUL to contribute, or are you going to just continue
whining because you now have a phone with the worst cellular company on the
    face of the planet (ATT)?
