Re: Sony Ericksson T608 bluetooth enabled phone
thanks for the response,
I do have vision on my phone plan. I was thinking that there must be a
special number or string of character to dial in order to have the data come
from sprint through the phone to my PDA.

Other people have posted here that one needs to setup to dial #777, no=20
user name or password. I'd imagine that, if you can get your PDA to=20
recognize the T608 as a BT modem, that's how you'd do it.
But I am guessing.

Sorry. I was under the assumption from the original message that
you were trying to hack it. I am not against that kind of activity
but... As for connecting to the phone as a modem, #777 is what I use
for my laptop. As long as you have a BT interface with your PDA you
should be good.

the T608 will pair as a BT modem, however Sprint only allows limited
data services. From what I've heard in other forums, Sprint now detects
you going over 3mb a min and will charge you surcharges or turn off your
Vision. I imagine the reason Sprint doesn't have any BT phones is
because the corporate types got their panties in a bunch hearing about
how we'll all steal off of the vision steam with bluetooth, now that
it's easier to do.

I doubt that this is the reason. More likely it's got something to
do with their system being extremely closed and the market being
smaller. The CDMA market seems to be just Sprint now, everyone else
having gone to GSM. It's much more profitable to produce a phone for
the majority of the market and therefore the CDMA market suffers a
bit. As for using the phone as a modem, there have been cables for
that for years...

I think Alltel and Verizon might have a bit of a=20
disagreement with you on that one.
Do you know where all upgrade paths for GSM lead? To CDMA.
Hmm.

Sorry, I didn't realize that Verizon was CDMA. I don't consider
Alltel to be a valid carrier as their coverage is extremely poor. I
had heard that GSM's upgrade path was to CDMA. Kinda makes one wonder
why everyone is flocking to GSM...
