    Hi,

    I need some more clarification.
Just curious, I have two Sanyo scp5300 phones under sprint. One is month to
month as that one was bought with a one year contract in Jan 2003, the other
was bought in June 2003 and is still under contract.

Now there's this new phone 5500 I htink with the walkie talkie speakerphone/
movie mode . It's $380 at best Buy but $230 with $150 instant rebate.

Can I qualify as a "NEW" activbation with A "NEW" number, then cancel one of
my other phones which is month to month.

I don't care if I get a new number, I want that phonw WITH the rebate. Is it
    doable?

    TIA,

    Jeff

yes and maybe. yes if you're account is credit worth to 'add-a-phone'
another phone. if it's not, then cancel the month to month then get the new
phone and activate it on your existing account and get the rebate with new
    number.

    Re: Sprint Rebate/New activation question

From my understanding, this is after talking with sales reps. There is a
upgrade option if you have had your phone for 18 months. What you get is the
$150 rebate on new a phone purchase.
If you haven't had your phone for 18 months, you will only get 50% of the
    rebate, $75 dollars off.
You shouldn't have to get a new number or anything else.

    Good luck

    Re: Sprint Rebate/New activation question

That's only if you're replacing a phone on an existing number. He
specifically said he didn't care about keeping his number so why would you
tell him he shouldn't need to get a new number? You cancel the phone...
then add a phone to the account and get the $150 rebate... just like I
said... no confusion... no problems..... damn
