    Hello,

I purchased the cable with the cd from my local Sprint store and have found
    that they do not work
    on my laptop.

    I have a Kyocera 2435 (Sprint) phone.

So, I went to the Kyocera website and downloaded the 2.1 version of the KPD
software (that should have been included with my cable/cd purchase).

But the problem is that the 2.1 version of KPD requires you to have the 1.1
    already installed.

For some reason I have not found the old version of this software - on the
    Kyocera site???

So, I am stuck - unless I can find a version of this KPD software - on the
    web.

I don't think I should have to buy yet another cd for this Kyocera/Sprint
    phone.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    -J

if it doesn't work then return it to the Sprint PCS store for refund.

Nah, wait a minute before you do that. I have a Verizon Kyocera 2325 -
keep in mind that it is the same phone; the Verizon models have the
Sprint model number minus 20. The 2325 and the Sprint 2345 are the same
phone, as are the Verizon 2235 and the Sprint 2255 (although those two
    models have slightly different bodies).

My software worked fine on my Windows 2000 IBM Thinkpad. (I did NOT get
the software/cable from Verizon, I got the Kyocera OEM kit from a third
party.) I haven't tried it on my Dell Inspiron, my new laptop that runs
XP, because my Inspiron didn't come with a serial port and it's a serial
cable and I need to go spend $20 on a serial to USB adapter. But you should
    be fine.

I used KPD on both my 2325, my other Verizon phone - a Kyocera QCP3035, and
my wife's old phone, a Sprint Kyocera 2255.

Before you go back to the store, e-mail me. Or, if you'd prefer, buzz me
on my office number below. I'll bet I can spend 10 minutes with you and
    get it working.
