    Welp...

Stopped by my local Radio Shack today, and the sales-dude checked the
FutureDial website and sure enough, the A680 was listed (wasn't two days ago
when FutureDial tech support emailed me and said they had no idea when this
    phone would be supported).

If anyone is interested, Cable #3 will work w/ the A680 (and the A310,
    A530, A600, N270, VGA1000 and VI660). The latest SnapSync software from
FutureDial also now plays with Outlook 2003. You must download the latest
DLL update from FutureDial for it to work w/ the A680.

    Anyhow, FWIW.

I'll be glad to help and I hope it does.

First off, If you have any drivers get rid of them just to make sure your installing the correct ones and there is no conflicts.

Then download this Samsung Driver. You said you used the A680. So I know these drivers work. If you install these we know it's not a driver issue. ( http://xcellalliance.org/Download/S...usb_drivers.zip )

Secondly you need a USB Data Cable. I got a FutureMark but I don't think there really is a difference.

    So.

1.) Install the driver with the cable UNPLUGGED (USB Devices are better installed if the driver is installed before the device is hooked up. Windows XP Problem)

2.) You'll get a "This driver is not certified" error, hit "Continue Anyway" May have to do it a couple of times. Then Just plug it into a USB Port you want to do it in. Make sure, cause if you use a different USB Port later it won't work right. (Another Windows XP Problem) Once it is plugged in, the phone may or may not USB Connected.

3.) Windows XP AGAIN will ask you to install something. In reality your installing two things. One is the driver for the USB Emulated Com Port. Com ports generally aren't assigned to USB Devices so it has to emulate it. (Hence the Windows XP Problems mentioned earlier.) Essentially the data cables for these phones are to turn it into modems, not to be used with programs like BitPim. (But can be) When it asks you to install a driver, let it automatically do everything. It should work without having to redirect it to the drivers.

4.) Once the last step is done, it Should be saying USB Connected by now. (If it said it before then the phone was set up correctly, but the drivers on the PC wasn't, which is why it won't work) After that, just load up BitPim. I think it likes to use COM4 for the phone. Could be different.

5.) In BitPim 0.7.30.0 (This is the version you need) Select the A650 Phone. (I know you have an A680, but it's not supported) In the file menu select View -> View FileSystem. This is the only thing that works currently. Browse to the CAM Folder and dldJpeg and Jpeg Folders are your pictures. I haven't been able to transfer from PC to Phone successfully yet, but that is due to the lack of support for BitPim. I can go from phone to PC though.

6.) Sometimes people have problems here, if you've done all the above to the Letter, then reply again and I'll get into more detail of BitPim, but it should work.

7.) Your Pictures are going to be a long number with no file extension. Just right click each one and hit save. When saving them rename them with .jpg extensions. (Once that is done you have to use something like Adobe Photoshop CS to load them up and resave them as jpg's and you have a clear crisp picture!

8.) PS. DON'T TOUCH ANY OTHER FILES (YOU WILL Permanately Jack your phone if you do).
i had to get a data driver from http://www.susteen.com/drivers.htm for the data cable then i hooked them all up and bingo.

I followed these instructions i dl BITPIM from Emule. i have the setup file on my computer and all the other files i need so if u need anything just email me.
[email protected] and i will be glade to give u links or send u the files.
