Initail reviews in Motorola v60v a sigal strenght winner

All

Visiting some of the other web sites like sprintusers, etc... the
common thread to the reviews is "this phone knows CDMA".

If you want vision, camera, etc... then this is not the phone for you.
If you need a phone that works geat as a phone you might want to take
a look

I would love a camera but #1 for me is reception and call quality.
Call quality is superb. So far (I have had mine 24 hours), it appears
that I may be getting better fringe reception than my Moto old P8767
as well. My old P8767 got much better reception that current Sanyo,
Sansung and Nokia phones on Sprint, thus I would rate the v60v
reception as exceptional compared to its current peers.

it looks like you can punch in custom tunes. it come with a whole
bunch of them built in too.

"Punch in"? please explain.

I realize you can't get Vision with this phone, but how about Sprint's
"wireless web" option. Not as pretty as Vision, but I have WW on my
Samsung A400 and can download ringtones and get text-only access to
the web. Anyone know if WW is available on the Motorola V60v?

There is a menu where you enter custom tones. You enter a name and
use the keypad to enter notes. I didn;t enter any so I can't geive
you details, I just noticed it

almost certainly not. that would require supporting 1X voice but low-speed data.

Actually, it HAS been done before. The Sanyo 4700 and quite a few other
phones that were out roughly 6-8 months prior to the Vision launch that
bore the "Qualcomm 3G CDMA" label were 1X voice capable, but data was
through the old wireless web.

So it's possible that the V60v could have been made this way. However,
I doubt that Sprint is interested in continuing to support the old
wireless web interface any longer than they have to, and releasing more
phones that use WW only pushes back the day they can finally discontinue it.
