I have a Kyocera 6035 and thinking about upgrading to a Treo600 due to the
call handling software, camera, and palm software (I already palm software).
I'm no longer under a contract and have continued monthly on the 400 free
minutes program. I was wondering if any deals would be better off upgrading
with my present plan, and/or closing it down and activating a new account
with a new phone number. Essentials: unlimited long distance calling on
weekends, real text-messaging (as opposed to SMS), paging, reliability.
Optional: photos for moblogging. Could go with personal or business.
Thanks in advance.

Well, with an already existing line, the rebate involved is mail-in. =20
With a new number, it's instant: right off the out-of-pocket cost of=20
the phone. That can be a pretty big difference to some.
BTW, SMS *is* "real text-messaging." The stuff before that was=20
Shortmail, and SPCS never called that SMS.
The way we do MMS, there's no direct support for moblogging. You'd=20
have to download the pic to a PC, and *then* email it to the moblog=20
(at least, for the two I tried that permitted emailing of pics). =20
PictureMail sends a URL to an online storage location for the=20
picture, and the two moblog sites I tried didn't support that.
