Qwest migration to Sprint

They are migrating largest markets last and finishing by early fall so

ADVICE-= don't even listen to what you hear through the "regular"
sales channels. Qwest has one of the best Loyalty and Retention
departments in the business, they have always had to because due to
the size of their customer base they cannot afford to lose anyone.

so this is how to get the best deal- call wireless, just dial 611 and
select you wish to "remove all or part of your services" verify that
the agent you speak with works in "loyalty" if they don't ask to be
transferred. When you have a loyalty agent on line, advise them you
are looking to leave qwest because of a better deal with Verizon
(because you mentioned them) with regard to a phone, price plan cost,
or coverage, whatever. This department has access to promos that no
other department does, everyhitng from "loyalty Price Plans" to
monetary credits, and free phones.they will make you an offer based on
whatever concern you table: All require at least one year comitment.
When/if you migrate to one of the freedom plans you WILL have to
upgrade your handset if purchased prior to aug 24 2003, with few
excpetions because OTA capability is required and that is the date Q
started shipping OTA capable hndsts except for a few models.
Also consider that nobody knows what is going to happen when verizon
takes over in a few months.

None of the new plans have evening hours either and that stinks, that
was probably the biggest reason I stayed with qwest as long as I did,
the 7pm evening hours that are going away when you migrate.

Take my advice about calling loyalty though. I never paid more then
50.00 for a phone and my last two were a 720 and a 60I

My limited understanding of the issue is that Qwest will or already has
migrated folks over to the Sprint network, and made arrangements for
Sprint to provide service in areas where Qwest had service and
Sprint did not.

In other words, Qwest wireless will continue to exist, and sell service
under the Qwest wireless name. They will, of course, be resellers of
Sprint at that point, because they have sold all of their native wireless
licenses and network.

If you're completely happy, things will probably stay more or less the
same. In other words, I'm not sure what this change means for Qwest
wireless subscribers. One good thing is that you have Sprint's
nationwide network so Qwest now has nationwide plans.

PS: Honestly I have no idea how this will impact your service for the
good or the bad. If you stick with Qwest, it would be nice to
hear what you think of it when the transition is complete.

AMEN It must have taken me 30 calls to qwest to get to the RIGHT
loyalty transition person!

But when you get the RIGHT person they will give away the farm. They
offered me 1000 anytime for $26/mo. THEN they offered me 600at with
3000n&w shared (with up to 7 phones) for $35 a month! WOW! I took the
shared. We had 3 phones on the old network, so I added 2 more for
free, Why not. This plan includes CALLING YOUR HOME LANDLINE NUMBER
as one of the family plan numbers (a rarity amung wireless providers).

I think this has 7pm nites. I'll have to check. I logged on to qwest
to check my bill and it says $53 a month for 5 phones. Either its
wrong for what they quoted me, or its more for some reason of having 5
phones. I'll have to check. Either way 5-7 phones for $35 OR for $53
is a GREAT deal figuring free calling to home landline number.

I can post the many 800 numbers i've collected in my 30 or so calls to
em, trying to find the RIGHT person in "transitions" that knew about
loyalty transitions.
