Fun stuff without a MONTHLY fee?

Now that I have vision, besides ringers which I grabbed in the past
anyway, is there any good premium games or other applications, that
people can recommend, that do NOT expire? Or require a Monthly charge
over and above what I'm already paying.

These would be for use on a Sanyo 8200

I've never been the type to use my phone as a game machine, But, It
might be nice to have a few premium games/apps to pass the time, now and
then. BUT, everything I'm seeing has expirations dates on them, that
require a recurring monthly fee.

To me, thats BULL.

Michael, I don't know what price you will be paying for Vision, once your
two month trial period is up, but on mine, it's $15/mo., and offers $5 / mo.
back in credits on downloads. I have the History Channel game on my 5300,
which would normally cost $3 or $4 / mo., but with the credits applied, it's
no charge.

1) Some of the games are non-expiring

2) At least it has been my experience, once you DOWNLOAD the the ringer...
It's yours!
I have never had a ringer 'go dead'!

And it's automatic. You actually have to opt-out of it if you don't want it,
but if you do, your Vision monthly just goes down to $10... so if you do any
downloading at all on a regular basis, you might want to hold onto it because
otherwise you don't save that much money.

No one at Sprint told me about this, either -- I had to ask after finding out
about it here.

See! They never told me this when I signed up. Glad to know though.

They just congratulated me for signing up for Vision, and told me I had
2 months free.

I think you mentioned that you are moving from a non-Vision plan to a
Vision plan. There is one thing that you should be aware of (if you
aren't already)...

If you sign up for a Vision plan and activate your new phone in mid
billing cycle, the Vision plan doesn't go into effect until the next
billing cycle, and you will get billed for any Vision use (at whatever
the current $/kbit rate is) prior to the start of the next billing
cycle.

Been there, done that... Sprint was nice enough to refund the Vision
charges. The customer service rep who signed me up for Vision made no
mention about paying for Vision charges prior to the next billing
cycle. She simply told me that my phone would be ready to use in 2-4
hours, and to enjoy my 2 free months of Vision.

Yup. Without a plan Vision costs 1 cent per KB. And any plan changes (not just
Vision) take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. But the two-month
free trial started immediately when it was added, when I got it, which is not
the way it usually works with Sprint. (I thought that was weird.)

I have found SprintPCS customer service to be very curtious and helpful. If
you treat them with respect, they will usually treat you with respect. A
have a friend that called Verizon tech support and acted like a total dick.
They did not help him. Can you blame them?

Actually, I've found Sprint *and* Verizon CSRs to be helpful. Verizon CSRs tend
to be much more consistently well-trained than Sprint CSRs do, though. (This
from about four years of experience as a customer of both carriers.)

Thanks Joseph. Actually I have had my phone activated for a bit.
I had dabbled with Picture mail, and such, and then one day did a bunch
of downloading ringer, screen savers, a few games, and then uploaded
some pictures, etc.. and all of a sudden I had $17 in overages. I
figured I might as well add Vision.

Actually I specifically started my Vision service without the extra $5
charge and download credit, which for our 2 Vision phones plus the WW
phone is unnecessary.
