The Nokias are supposed to be good too, and the Motorola v60...
Some of the Samsungs suck in areas without strong signals, like the 660, but
some (like the 740 and the newer multimedia Samsung phones) are good. My
VGA-1000 is great. It's discontinued, but there's an eBay power seller
auctioning a bunch of them off. (I forget their name; will have to look it up.
They have less than 10% combined neutral and negative feedback over 5,000-6,000
auctions, so they should be safe to buy from. I want to say it's Dealtime, but
I'm not absolutely sure...)

It would help if you would say what area you are in, where your problem
area. Also, what make & model phone your are using currently.

Re: Looking for great reception phone
Prior to the 7400, I had the 4500. It was an excellent phone and had great
reception, but the signal meter (bars) was over-exaggerated.

Ah, the great Signal Strength myth.
The signal meter can't really be compared to other phones on the same carrier,
or necessarily other phones of the same make and model. It's just a relative
indicator for the phone you happen to be using right now.
That's why I find the AT&Tingular TV ads so amusing... they're pushing "more
bars in more places," which only really has meaning if you're looking to
consume lots of alcohol.
