This phone has worked for over a year
then just last week I started getting get a blank screen.

If I shut down and restart the phone it works with a screen for a few minutes, then the interior screen goes blank again.

the exterior screen locks, opening the case up dates the clock.

the phone rings, and I can speed dial out,
I just keep getting a blank screen,
(no power downs like a bad battery).

I changed batteries, a fresh charge does not seem to matter.

Is there a reset code for this phone?
    Is it just going dead?
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks !!!

I had a similar problem with my last cell phone. The trouble was that
the display only made contact with the mother board via a contact strip
held together only by the pressure of the case being screwed together.
The display screen is just laid into a depression in the case shapped
for it. They the mother board is laid in behind it. All the parts were
connected that way. The microphone, Speaker, vibrator, and keypad all
just laying under the mother board with contact areas. No connectors.
Talk about cheap. Any way. Over time the connection strip no longer had
enough pressure to make a good connection. I cut some "shim" strips out
of electrical tape to add more pressure in the right place. My problem
went away. Not saying this is your problem. But it may be worth a try.
It is quite simple to do once I found a tiny TORX #6 driver for its screws.

A friend's A460 failed in the same way as yours. Maybe columbotrek's
fix will work. I went thru 2 A460's that failed under warranty in
different ways than yours, and gave up on my third A460 for a new model.
Almost any current SPCS phone will give you better reception and sound
quality than the A460. I'm much happier with my A680.

How old is that model? 3 years? Maybe the fix in this thread might help you,
but I'm with Frank. Time to get you a new phone. You will enjoy better
    reception with a newer model.
