Do I need to get vision to get a discounted phone upgrade? I have two
phones with sprint on a nice $40 a month 1000 minute plan ($20 second
line and $20 more for vision on first).
I want to upgrade my second phone but my wife has zero need for
vision.. I want to get a readylink ready phone as I think I may want
to get that down the road.. all readylink phones(actually it looks
like all phones now) have vision.

Vision isn't a phone feature, it's a service.
If you don't want it, don't pay for it.

Re: Do I need version for discounted phone upgrade
well on the page that deals with the discounted upgrade it says you
need to add vision
http://www1.sprintpcs.com/explore/ue...UpgradeProgram
It says you need a plan of $34.99, a new one/two year contract, and
sprint pcs vision(if phone has vision which all the good ones do)
Also.. what price does the $150 (2 year agreement come off of)?
The phone I was thinking of $199 with a $150 instant rebate for new
customers. I assume the $150 comes off the $199 and I pay $50 like
new customers?

Yes, it does, and you get it free for two months. If you find that you don't
want Vision, within that two month period, you can cancel that optional
service.

Off of the price of the phone. If the phone has an MSRP of $200, it will
cost you $50.

That's correct.

Re: Do I need version for discounted phone upgrade
if I cancel the vision later does that kill my rebate? or is the deal
that I only need to try vision with the hope that I will keep it.

Re: Do I need version for discounted phone upgrade
I've never heard of anyone complaining that canceling Vision
killed the rebate. Sprint wants you to get hooked on Vision
during the free trial so that (hopefully) you won't cancel.

As John said, I too have never heard of anyone losing their rebate after
cancelling Vision. We here in the newsgroup have advised others in the past
just to keep the free vision on the account, and cancel it a week or two
before the two months are up.

Re: Do I need version for discounted phone upgrade
FYI you only get one month free now and yes you can cancell the vision,
you just need to add it when you do your upgrade to get the rebate.
